Hillsboro Men's Clinic

Next week I will be preaching a the Men's meeting sponsored by Person to Person Ministries. I am excited because my dad is also going to be there and he is bringing my bro Mark. I can't wait to see them both and hear some great preaching.

I get to hear one of my favorite preachers Jeff Faull and I am psyched about hearing my very good friend Wade Allen preach next week.

Operation Chaos

Well Rush got to me and since there was no major candiate on my ticket and I pulled a democrat ticket and voted for Hillary. I emailed Rush and he read it on the air. Here is the email I sent him:

National Preaching Summit

Next Monday and Tuesday I will be going up to Indianapolis to the National Preaching Summit. I am really hoping that this year will be better and the lineup lends itself to that for sure.

As I type this I am watching the Election Returns: McCain has the Republican Nomination and Clinton and Obama are fighting it out and I love watching really these idiots beat each other up.

Great Day

Today We had our preaching group. We are preaching through Jonah and we discussed chapters 2 and 3. I really enjoy those guys. I love to get together with all of them and blow off steam.

I am looking forward to the Preaching Summit next week. (TWSS)

Kingdom Builders

Tonight we are hosting our regional Men's meeting called Kingdom Builders. It has been in existence for many many years. Right now they are struggling with attendance and relevance.

Jonah

This Sunday I am beginning a four week sermon series on the book of Jonah. I am sure this will be an exciting series.

Funerals and the Gospel

I preached a funeral today. His daughter and her Fiance have been attending our church recently. His nephew also spoke. He gave some wonderful memories of his Uncle and then proceeded to ask everyone to say the Sinners Prayer.

Am I wrong or is this not the time and place to mislead people down the wrong path. It is one thing to turn a funeral into a Revival meeting but then to mislead people down a path that cant be found in scripture is unforgivable in my opinion.

Am I wrong? If so let me know.

No Class at LBC

Our classes were cancelled tonight at Louisville Bible College. It has been a rough winter. ICE ICE ICE. We need some Global Warming.

Come on folks start up your SUV's, Spray Lysol into the air, get this ice to melt.

I cannot Believe I am saying this

I think he is nuts. I think he is desperate for attention. I don't know that he has ever been right. But sitting here with freezing rain around me I can say one thing: I WISH FOR ONCE AL GORE WOULD BE RIGHT.

Happy Birthday Jonathan

Today our oldest son Jonathan turned 9 years old. I can't believe it has been that long. Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to him on the blog.

No Storm but a Movie

Can you believe it? No storm came. I didnt go to LBC because of the TERRIBLE ICE that was coming. But this morning we are having school and business as usual.

Tonight Jonathan, Robert, and I are going to see The Pirates who Don't Do Anything.

Winter Storm

The First Winter Storm is on the way to Shoals. I have decided not to have my classes at LBC tonight. By the time I got out the snow and ice would already be on the roads here in town.

We may get some ice but I am hoping more Snow less ice. That equals less danger

The Lesson and Life

I just finished my articles for the Lookout. I am writing the Lesson and Life section in the May issues. I really enjoyed it.

Two Weeks Done

My two classes at Lousivlle Bible College are going well. They have been well attended and I am enjoying teaching them. I love this teaching thing I think I could get used to it.

The 3:16 series is going well. The people are really responding to it.

Other 3:16's

Over the next few weeks I will be preaching from other 3:16 verses in the Bible. I John 3:16, Acts 3:16, Revelation 3:16, and I Timothy 3:16. It should be fun series to preach.

CCJ is also doing this series and I think Bryan Sanders at Sanborn is as well.

Tradition Cheats College Football Fans

Tradition is good. There is nothing wrong with traditions. My family has many that i cherish and wouldn't want to see change.

However, the Rose Bowl allowed tradition to cheat college football fans out of a great game. Can you imagine a GA/USC Rose Bowl. If that would have happened we would be one step closer to knowing who is the best team.

Instead they chose IL and they were humiliated. Illinois is a great team and would have done great against many other teams. But by their commitment to tradition over good football we still have no answer to who might be the best and we have a good team who has been utterly humiliated and may take a while to recover from it.

Happy Birthday

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my lovely Mother. She is 29 today.

15 Years

On January 2, 1993 Tina Willhite did what I hoped she would do for a long time. She Married me. Today Tina and I have been married for 15 years. If I am lucky it will only be for 50-75 more.

I love you Tina. Thanks for sharing your life and creating the worlds best kids with me.

POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME

Wow I didnt get to bed until 1:30 AM but it was worth it. 41-10 GA beats Hawaii. Yes they were poised for an upset, for about thirty seconds.

Happy New Year and BOWL DAY

Just wanted to say happy 2008 to all my friends and family. My family and I spent two days last week in Knoxville Tennesse with my parents and bro and his family.

I love Zach and Mia. They are the greatest. Mia hope you find your DS Soon.

Last night was spent with our very good friends Brian and Cassie Self. We had a blast even though IU lost its Bowl Game.

So far the SEC is 4-0 but the big ten my have something to say about it. Wisconsin Dominates Tennessee it seems.
